The Palm Grill is the place to be in the summer, especially on the weekends! The
food is delicious and the staff is fun and always catering to the customers! The
atmosphere is wonderful with the live music and a great way to party all
afternoon long by the beach!

Everyone we have talked to since our wedding has said it "was the best wedding they had ever been to." The Shell provided our guests with a weekend getaway literally starting Friday night with a Tiki Welcome Party all the way through Sunday with a delicious brunch. The food, service, location....everything.... was the best!

Perfect vacation spot especially for our family reunion. Everyone wanted to stay longer which we will do next year, Thanks.

The Sea Shell is a fantastic place to stay. I have been coming to the Jersey shore with my family for over a decade and have ALWAYS stayed at the Sea Shell. The people are friendly and eager to help. The food has always been great, my family rarely leaves the pool or beach to go anywhere else for lunch and the dinner is exceptional. Try to Garlic Clams and Mussels! TO DIE FOR! And now they have added a breakfast restaurant! What more could we ask for? You have to try this place. They have given us hundreds of wonderful family memories over the years!

Everyone was treated with the utmost respect; both the bride and groom, as well as all the invited guests. Whatever you needed, someone was willing and more than happy to get anything you would like.

Because of my experience at the wedding I attended, I have visited and stayed at the hotel this past summer. The front desk clearly stated that there are bands almost every night and that they play into the wee hours of the morning. My friends' kids had no problem falling asleep.

On the weekends, everyone should expect for it to be a busy restaurant. You will see many people there enjoying the poolside bands because it is ENTERTAINMENT. The people in the ocean front rooms are the lucky ones who get to meet some band members.

Overall, I have enjoyed every experience I have had at the Sea Shell and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys fun, music, entertainment, and great food. You cannot go wrong with anything here.."

Stayed in room 214 overlooking parking lot but with a view of the ocean. (saved money that way). Clean with some wear in the bath. Could use some TLC in there. Shower water switched from warm to cold at times and no pressure in sink. Refrig, TV and AC were all new and worked wonderfully. All staff was very courteous and friendly. Priced right for LBI, location was great. Right on beach, tiki bar had a nice crowd day and night. Nice pool, no lounge chairs around, only on private beach area. Live band each night drew a small crowd (Tuesday). Traveled with my 20 year old daughter. Opted to stay only one night instead of two, guess we plowed the Island in less than 24 hours. Rent bikes at Faria's surf shop - what a nice way to travel. May get crazy on the weekend, but I would have loved that!!! Lot's of kids and the beach gets packed with families. Heard their food is good, however, went to the Black Whale and enjoyed it so much. Clean and safe - would go again.

We went during the week with small children and had a great time. We didn't hear the noise that other people talked about, as we were in a room on the other side of the hotel (not facing the ocean, we were on the back parking lot side). I don't know if it's worse on the weekends, but there were bands & we couldn't hear them from our rooms. We could see the rooms that people might have referred to where it would be impossible to stay with children...there are some right above the restaraunt/bar. Those rooms are actually more $$$ because they have an ocean view. The beach was steps from our room, which was really convenient with the kids & they have a shower spot to clean the sand off of you right at the beach entrance. It was also convenient to have the restaurant/bar right there when you wanted a bite to eat or if you wanted a drink (although it can get expensive). The pool is in the same place as the outdoor eating area/bar & there aren't chairs around it. There is a gate around it and the restaurant tables are right up against it. Some parents brought small beach chairs to sit next to the pool if their kids were in it, but there really isn't a lot of room around it. We would just sit with our feet in the pool near the steps to watch the kids. Not ideal, but worked out ok. It's also not far from the kids rides & shopping. We could have probably walked, but took the car since we had small kids with us. The only real complaint I have was that we had a pretty rude lunch waitress one afternoon, but aside from that the staff was nice & the rooms were clean. We enjoyed our trip & would go back again.

I am a newcomer to the Seashell Resort, but my boyfriend has been going there for many years. We visited 3 times this summer, each stay better than the one before. The rooms are all very nice, neat, clean and well kept. The staff always polite and courteous. The food very good. Everyone is extremely friendly, always making you feel most welcome. The beach and pool are easily accessible, and the tiki bar a most enjoyable fun place to relax! There is no doubt that we will plan return visits to the Seashell Resort. It is a must for anyone who likes a beach getaway!

After reading the other reviews, I admit I got nervous as I already booked the hotel, so I contacted them and questioned them about the Happy Hour noise, etc. The assured me it would be ok. They were so right. We did go Monday - Thursday, so I cannot comment on the weekend, but I can say it was terrific while I was there. Our ground floor room was located on the opposite side of the pool/bar area, so noise was not a factor at all. If you have any doubts, request a room away from the night club. The pool is for guests only, so we did not encounter any problems there either. My 5 year old loved it! The Happy Hour during my stay, consisted of one musician playing very mellow music in the corner of the pool area. That's it - no parties, no craziness. The kids in the pool were louder than any party could have been. The beach front location was a tremendous plus as we didn't have to drag everything too far. The convenience of a restaurant right there was wonderful. We had lunch and dinner there. Although the lunch menu did not include kids meals, I was able to share mine with my son, and he didn't even have to get out of his swimsuit. A little costly, but super convenient with a child. Because everything was within walking distance, we only used our car one time during our stay (because it was too hot to walk). The room was adorable, yellow and decorated in a simple beachy way, and a decent size for 3 of us. Sure the bed was a little hard, but hotel beds always are. Yes, we had a view of the parking lot, but I didn't care about that. It made unpacking the car super easy, as we parked right in front of our door. We had their free continental breakfast there the last day, and wish I had taken advantage of it every day. They had a great assortment of bagels, muffins, cereal, juices, etc. I didn't like the fact that you had to pay $20 each for 2 beach passes, but you do get the cash back at check out time. I did not encounter any rude people. My husband actually commented on how nice everyone was there. Beach Haven was an adorable town that was great for families. We have decided to go back every year, and we will be looking forward to staying at the Sea Shell every time

Getting married on the beach was a dream come true and the food was fabulous!! It was amazing!

My husband and I fell in love with the Sea Shell the moment we walked inside. The Sea Shell is a beautiful venue set on the Atlantic Ocean in LBI. Our guests felt like they were on a tropical island because the Shell staff does an amazing job as turning their hotel into a tropical get-a-way. The Shell provided us with a welcome party on their deck lined with tiki torches overlooking the ocean. The cocktail area was under a huge tiki outdoors overlooking the ocean with the MOST amazing fresh seafood. Guests raved about the shrimp and oysters! The reception room was turned into a tropical paradise of pinks and oranges that were gorgeous. And our guests were treated to a breakfast buffet the next morning as they said goodbye. Our wedding weekend was an unforgettable experience thanks to the Shell and their amazing staff. The Hughes family did an amazing job at accommodating us and providing us with anything we needed. They treated us like family and couldn't be more welcoming. The wedding planner, Jaimee, is awesome and worked with me planning out each detail. She was supportive and available anytime I had a question. I can not recommend the Shell enough to anyone looking to get married on the Jersey Shore! Truly incredible experience and I can not thank them enough!

"The owners ROCK! Catered to your every need - will even make a family recipe for your reception! We had our rehearsal dinner there too, outside & poolside. Not one glitch - the day was perfect and they know what they are doing!"

The Shell is LBIs best, and potentially only (besides the quelle or engleside), tike, pool, and beach bar that doubles as a rockin nightclub with live entertainment and specials 7 days a week. Margaritas, daquiris, pina coladas, and canned beers during the poolside saturdays with live bands and shot specials, mixed drinks, and more canned beers at night with more live music or DJ. The scene ranges depending on the time of day, entertainment, etc. Food at the Shell is also good.
